As the world of fashion and style continues to change daily, it is vital for creators and designers to stay true to their own identity and allow their personality to make their clothing unique. That goes double for those who are trying to expand their brand to a national level. One must stay true to their style in order to make the appeal genuine to their audience. For those who have an appreciation for 90’s aesthetic, music and history, there is an up and coming clothing brand that has found a unique concept and theme that is not being duplicated.
Complex Season was founded by De’Vaughn Mills in July of 2013, launched by the release of a tee labeled simply “Complex” above a collage of iconic photos of a who’s who of Rap and R&B music legends, staple franchise black television shows and iconic images from legendary films. From Snoop Dogg to Aaliyah to the Martin show logo, it was a unique spin on paying homage to cultural influences from perhaps the most important era for modern culture and entertainment. Since then, Complex Season has made sure to continue to deliver on making the brand’s vision stay at the forefront. Over the next five year’s the brand has had branched out to include tees, hats, jerseys and jackets, giving the versatility and range that a high quality brand should give its customers. Shirts with odes to legendary artists Lil’ Kim, Notorious B.I.G., Diddy and 2Pac have highlighted the brand’s nostalgic style and flare. All of which has set the brand up for their huge 2018 summer season launch, which took place in late July.
For summer 2018, Complex Season has released two new tees, both of which are must haves for 90’s music lover. One shirt displays a young Jay-Z during the “Reasonalble Doubt” era. The other dons a lovely photo of the enigmatic Erykah Badu (accompanied by a nice photo with Andre 3000 too). Both tees are currently available in unisex sizing. Perhaps the brand’s most ambitious and unique look for the new season is their new polo shirt, which brings a clean red, white and blue colorway accented by a gold zipper in place of traditional buttons. This polo is available in both men’s and women’s sizing and is as ideal for the office as it is for a party, which makes it a great purchase. As the year continues and this upstart brand continues to grow and make this type of progression, you can believe you’ll see even more quality items in the near future.
